Washington Environix - The mold Experts.

Inspection & Testing

  Seattle, WA - Environix
all certified Environix technicians are trained in identifying conditions that cause IAQ problems

Inspection by certifed technicians equipped with knowledge, training, technology and experience

During the Inspection process we are looking for any sign of structural defect, mechanical failure, or environmental condition conducive to mold colonization, allergen proliferation, and other potentially hazardous IAQ related problems.

Our Certified Technicians are equipped with the knowledge, training, technology, and experience to diagnose even the toughest indoor air quality problems.

testing is carried out by trained Environmental professionals

A variety of tools and instruments are used during the inspection process allowing our technicians to clearly define the extent and pinpoint the source of the IAQ problem.

Simple Qualitative - building pressurization, temperature, relative humidity, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and moisture.

Complex Quantitative - mold sampling, bacteria sampling, VOC testing, particle counts, and allergen screening.

Hidden mold in a wall cavity

Hidden Mold in a Wall Cavity

This client started to experience allergic reactions soon after moving into her new home. The sellers failed to disclose that the home had experienced a past flooding event related to a failed water heater.

The interior of the home was recently painted concealing any visible water staining or mold colonization.

A simple mold inspection with IAQ testing would have revealed this potentially hazardous condition.

Inspection - Sick? It may not be a cold.

If you're sick it may not be a related to a cold but rather elevated levels of moldIf your family suffers from animal, dust mite or mold allergies, an IAQ Assessment with an allergen screen could provide a valuable tool to better health. Be watchful of any irregular health issues like - wheezing, difficulty breathing , shortness of breath, nasal and sinus congestion, burning, watery, or reddened eyes, hacking cough, nose or throat irritation, skin rashes or irritation - these may be signs of severe problems.

Air samples and carpet tests can help determine if elevated allergen levels are effecting your air quality. The goal of biological sampling is to help determine whether the biological particles present in a particular environment are affecting or causing irritation in certain individuals. Sampling is also used to locate the sources of indoor microorganisms and facilitate an effective remediation. While we are typically
surrounded by a wide variety of different microorganisms every day, sampling provides us with a method to establish in a scientific way whether the environment in question contains more organisms than is normally present.

There are numerous techniques that may be used to evaluate the level of indoor microorganisms. Indoor air samples should always be compared against an outside control sample to allow for statistical analysis. Direct samples are conducted of suspect areas to determine the biological nature of the
discoloration and/or growth.

Testing - Under the microscope.

Testing - under the microscopeWe accomplish our mission through detailed indoor air quality investigations of our clients properties - both residential and commercial, conducted by our Certified Environix Technicians (CET's). The findings of this inspection lead us to recommend, and implement, a comprehensive testing program in order to gain a deep understanding of the IAQ issue. All tests are analyzed by certified labs, and results are confidential. The inspection and the testing enable us to create a Remediation Protocol Plan outlining steps necessary to repair the problem.

Environix feels that it is just as important to find the source of the mold as it is to identify it. We use only the latest testing equipment and supplies. Aerotech Laboratories and Environmental Microbiology Laboratories (EMLab) whom performs all of our sample analysis, are the nation’s most highly accredited laboratories in the industry. Our labs are committed to the highest industry standards and are accredited through the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) and the American Industrial Hygiene
Association’s (AIHA) Environmental Microbiology Laboratory Accreditation Program (EMLAP) and Industrial Hygiene Laboratory Accreditation Program (IHLAP). Aerotech’s BTOX division is also certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Program.
