Our technicians our trained in the latest containment procedures, ensuring that contamination does not spread to other areas of your home. Negative Air Machines with HEPA filtration insure mold spores aerosolized during the remediation process remain inside of the polyethylene containment area.

Expensive Drainage Problem

Unfortunately this client was unaware of a serious drainage issue that lead to extensive flooding in her daylight basement after a heavy rain. The result- mold started growing in the walls, the carpet and even on the fiberglass insulation.

After all the remediation work was conducted by Environix, clearance testing revealed the that her home was once again safe for occupancy.

Technical Goals of Remediation

Underlying cause(s) identified and repaired.

We first identify and repair the structural defect, mechanical failure, or environmental condition that caused the mold growth to begin with.  This step is carried out by Certified Environix Technicians utilizing specialized equipment.

Visible problem(s) removed.

All mold contaminated building materials that cannot be salvaged or cleaned are removed to a distance 2’ beyond all visible contamination. Depending on the extent of the contamination, containment, negative air generation and HEPA air filtration/ vacuuming may take place during this process.

Odor problem(s) resolved.

Mycotoxin production, a byproduct of mold growth, causes the odors commonly associated with mold contamination.  Complete eradication combined with an EPA approved biocide application will effectively eliminate these odors.

Environment is suitable for occupancy.

Post remediation verification or (clearance testing) is conducted to insure the environment is suitable for re-occupancy. 

For successful correction of an IAQ problem and resolution of a situation, both technical goals and organization goals must be met.  A technically competent remediation plan that lacks recognition of the budget, time and patience constraints of the organization is doomed to failure form the onset.

5 Principles of Remediation

1. Safety and Health – Safety is priority #1 for Environix Remediation Technicians.  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and containment insure both worker and occupant safety.

3. Contaminant Control – Dust suppression, HEPA Filtration, Negative Air, and Isolation are a few ways we guard against cross contamination.
